Convergence in Global Food Demand and Delivery

Uses food expenditure and sales data for 1990-2004 to examine whether food consumption trends in middle-income countries such as China and Mexico are following trends in high-income countries. Finds that benefits of increased choices of foods in middle-income countries are leading to problems of high-calorie foods and increasing obesity. From the Economic Research Service.
