5-4 Supreme Court decision that state laws that set IQ test scores as a boundary line for determining whether inmates are or are not intellectually disabled and eligible for execution are unconstitutional.  Virginia is among a few states that set 70 as the score for making such a determination.  The court ruled in 2002 that executing the mentally retarded was cruel and unusual punishment.  From the Cornell University Law School Legal Information Institute
