6-2 Supreme Court ruling that limits the president’s power to fill vacant government positions when nominations are delayed by partisan political fights.  The case involved an acting  general consul who served for over three years on the National Labor Relations Board without winning Senate approval.  The case was brought by an Arizona ambulance company accused of unfair labor practices.  From the Cornell University Law School Legal Information Institute
