The Eastern Shore only includes 7% of the Bay watershed  but contribute a disproportionate amount of nitrogen and phosphorus to Bay waters.  This report covers the importance of the Eastern Shore to the Bay, the major sources of nitrogen and phosphorus, and the management practices that would be most effective in mitigating the problem.  From the U.S. Geological Survey
