Presents trends in use and spending for outpatient prescription anticonvulsants for the years 1999 and 2009. Inflation adjusted total expenses increased from $3.3 billion in 1999 to $10.6 billion in 2009 while the number of people receiving such prescriptions increased from 8.6 million to 15.2 million.
