For the 12th consecutive year, the top consumer complaints to the government involved identity theft.   Other leading categories of complaint were “prizes, sweepstakes and lotteries,” “shop-at-home and catalog sales,” “banks and lenders,” and “Internet services.”  Complaints are also broken down by state and metro area.  From the Federal Trade Commission
