Traffic Congestion: Road Pricing Can Help Reduce Congestion, but Equity Concerns May Grow

Traffic congestion costs the U.S. an estimated $200 billion annually.  To date 19 sponsors have 41 pricing projects in operation or under construction that levy prices based on level of congestion and/or time of day.  Tolls vary from 25 cents to $14.
