U.S. Census Bureau Announces 2010 Census Population Counts

The resident population of the U.S. on Census Day, April 1, 2010 was 308,745,538, for an increase of 9.7% over the 2000 Census total.  California is the most populous state and Wyoming the least.  The largest population increase occurred in Texas, while the state which had the largest percentage increase was Nevada, up 35% from 2000.  From the Census Bureau
