Household Food Security in the United States, 2009

Reports that nearly 15% of American households were food insecure  at least some time during 2009 and nearly 6% had very low food security.  Food insecure households remained at the highest recorded levels since 1995 when the first food security survey was conducted.  From the Economic Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture
