Press release which describes in detail the set of protections provided to consumers by new transportation regulations. Airlines operating domestic flights are prohibited from holding passengers on a plane on the tarmac for more than three hours without allowing them to leave. Carriers operating international flights must specify in advance their own time limits. Other provisions relate to food, water, lavatory facilities, and the posting of flight delay information. Nationwide Movement of Goods Reached 12.5 Billion Tons in 2007
